Over the decades, we have provided critical design, pre-production and delivery platforms and services to all of the major newspaper and magazine titles in Australia, as well as for many overseas. DigitalAds was a pioneer amongst very few which helped to move an entire industry from analogue prepress production methods to digital. Exciting times, all of which we are very proud to have been both part of and instrumental in changing.

Borne of film, bromides and image setters, DigitalAds’ expertise harks back to the days when scissors, sticky tape and paste up desks where still a thing. Absolutely correct handling and creation of this artwork was paramount as press time came along. Bad artwork meant downtime – an expensive commodity at a large press site. Mechanical specification was ultra-important to the process, and we knew what made a studio and press work seamlessly together.

We took that deep-seated old-world expertise and translated it to the new era of digital artwork design and creation, where the specification of files delivered by the new process required entirely different ways of being checked before going to press. The concept of “preflight” was developed. Preflight is a method of stripping down and analyzing files destined for press to ensure their compatibility with the press’s paper and ink stocks before they potentially fail. DigitalAds grew an extremely successful business around taking delivery of and preflighting incoming files to ensure their press-readiness, and act as a buffer between the publisher and their clients’ graphic design resources.

Over the years, DigitalAds adapted that expertise and developed several key software and delivery platforms which are sill in use today by some of the biggest in the industry. SENDlite and BUILDlite are two current platforms that enable clients to transmit their artwork to newspapers and magazines worry-free. BUILDlite lets advertisers with no time for design to upload their raw material and have DigitalAds do the design work for them.

Today, we still offer our clients advertising design, build and ad delivery platforms, along with several other key services such as business Website Design & Development, Brochures, Leaflets, Display Materials, as well as SEO, SEM, PPC and much, much more to make it all work for you.

We also haven’t forgotten what old-fashioned service used to look like, and we’re happy to state that it still guides us in our dealings with our clients today.
